Annabelle

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

After watching "The Nun", "Conjuring" & "Conjuring 2" I watched Annabelle yesterday. It was the first spin-off to the Conjuring movies and I have to say, it didn't impress me.

As I have written in Conjuring post, I thought the second part is worse than the first one, well, Annabelle claimed it's place as the most worse now.

The movie almost felt like a poor imitation of the Chucky movies, at least the doll in Chucky kills people itself. In Annabelle, things take a different route.

Although I did like the no-killing theme they got in Conjuring and The Nun, it felt missing for Annabelle.

I did check with the notes of Ed and Lorrain Warren about their "case" with Annabelle. "Their" doll looks completely different than the one used in the movies. But they gave it a to evil-looking face.

The doll is portrait as a child toy. No child once a doll that looks evil when you look at it. Nobody would collect such dolls, expect creeps.

If I've got time I'm going to watch "Annabelle: Creation" tomorrow. It is the prequel to Annabelle, hopefully, it will be better than the first movie. If not, I can at least hope for the third one "Annabelle Comes Home".
