Doom Patrol

Recently I saw the recommendation for Doom Patrol on Prime Video. As the last years were full of Marvel Movies and TV Shows, I thought I should give it a try.

Doom Patrol isn't Marvel, it's DC, so if you aren't into the DC Universe (like my co-worker), it probably isn't the right series for you.

In my opinion, DC styled comics are just way darker than Marvel styled once.

Anyway, I am currently watching episode four of the first season and have to say I have got some mixed feelings.

On one side, it is great to see more of the unknown superheroes of DC, on the other side I am constantly comparing to the Marvel Universe and it's way bigger Budget.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching this new show, but my brain just doesn't want to wrap around yet.

To give you a small insight into the storyline, the series follows a few superheroes you probably could categorise as anti-heroes or losers (self-description of the series).

Obviously the world needs to be rescued, so nothing new on that sector.

What I really like is the acting of the cast. In my opinion, it is really hard to play such kind of characters and they all deliver a really great result.

As far as I know, the series didn't receive good critics, but I don't give a f* about other peoples opinions when it comes to movies and TV shows.

So, if you're interested in a little bit of an "other" superhero series, were the heroes have problems themself, be sure to check it out!
