Bureaucracy

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

As I have written multiple times know, I am in the process of moving to a new Apartment. Sadly, it isn't as easy as saying, I live here now.

In Austria there is a whole lot of bureaucracy assosicated with a move.

You have to go to the community authority to announce the move, after that you are required to change the papers for your car and motorcycle (because they have your address in it).

You have to tell it to your employer, the insurance agencies. To your Bank and probably all companies that have a direct debiting on your Accounts.

Then you need to remember to terminate your internet contract at the old address and register it on the new, or use the moving service the telecom company is offering.

You have to remember that your Amazon order now need to be routed to the new address and many more services require an update on your address.

Sure you've got to miss some. At least we got a service here from the post office were I can redirect all my "traffic" from the old address to the new for only 40€ for as much as one year.

How are digital nomads handling such things? Maybe @basilesamel can give some insights. :)
