BBQ on the Balcony

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

Last year I bought a small charcoal grill for the use on the Balcony of my Apartment. Yesterday was the first time I tested it.

I bought some charcoal briquettes in a DIY store nearby and also some pork chops from a grocery store.

After I successfully grilled my lunch, I invited my best friend over for a glass of wine and some pork chops in the evening. It turned out really well and we enjoyed a good cigar afterwards.

The grill only cost about 50 euros and if you ask me, it already was worth it. It is currently heating up again for my lunch today.

What I like most is that I can put almost the whole thing into the dishwasher, so cleaning up after the barbeque is really easy. Also with the integrated blower, it doesn't produce any smoke at all. So my neighbours aren't smoked when I'm turning it on.

The only thing that didn't work out as expected is getting the heating up and running. The briquettes take a long time and a bunch of ethyl alcohol to get started. Maybe normal charcoal would have been better. I will buy some next week and test it out.

Also, I think I've hitten 300 days of continues writing. What a great achievement to celebrate with a barbeque. :)
