Trip Planning

After a trip is before a trip. In just six days, I’ll be on the road again. This time travelling to Cologne and Hamburg. I recently checked plane and train tickets to see if driving is still the best option.

Well, to be honest, I wasn’t surprised with the results: yes, driving (electrically) is still cheaper.

Going by train for three people is an 15-hour trip (multiple train changes) and about €260 to €360 per direction. Flying from Vienna (we would need to get to the airport) is €130 to €250 per direction per person.

Although we have a slightly longer road trip this time, we “only” spent around €180 for charging. Well, we are going to take the Tesla again. Even adding wear and tear doesn’t add as much to the bill to make it more expensive than the other two methods.
