Road trip Planning

Last year in October I was at the Polaris Convention (I linked the English website) in Hamburg with my Brother. It is a heavy Japanese-influenced convention. Having Japanese food, Mangas, Anime, Tabletop games, huge amounts of cosplays, influencers of every category, gaming booths, speed run stages and many more things. We really enjoyed the trip, and so we decided to go again this year.

But Hamburg isn't around the corner, it is 1200 kilometres away to be honest. So I did some planning yesterday and booked hotels. This time we also will be staying a day longer in Hamburg, to visit the Miniature Wonderland and there is also the plan to visit some places in Düsseldorf and Dortmund while staying two night in Cologne.

In Düsseldorf, we will have a look at Europe's largest cigar reseller, cigar world. In Dortmund, we will visit the automobile museum of JP Performance (a German automobile and tuning influencer) and his Burger store.

But the side trip to the west parts of Germany adds another 400 kilometres to the trip. So in total, we will be driving around 1000 kilometres on Monday (7th October) to Cologne where we will have a look at the "Lost Level" bar. The same bar that did the cocktails, at the Polaris last year. It will be interesting to see a "gaming and esports" bar in action. Never been to one of those.

On Tuesday we will visit Cigar World and probably stroll around Düsseldorf and Cologne to do some sightseeing. On Wednesday, we will start the 400-kilometre trip from Cologne to Hamburg, stopping in Dortmund to visit JP Performance's stuff.

We should arrive in Hamburg in the evening, which leaves the whole Friday to visit stuff in Hamburg. Most notably the Wonderland. Friday till Sunday will be the Convention before we will be on the way back home on Monday. Just another 1200 kilometres to go.

I'm already looking forward to this trip as Christoph, my best friend, will be coming with us this year too. There will be awesome memories made.
