Long Day and short night (aka Night Shift)

Today I have to perform an updated at a customers server. Since they work relatively long (and I think they’ve got a different timezone), I won’t be able to perform it before 11 pm.

I have been up since 5 am, so it is a really long day for me. If everything goes well I can go to sleep by midnight. The thing is, there isn’t a way around waking up early tomorrow either. So I’m looking at a short night (probably five to six hours).

Luckily such kind of things don’t happen often, and a small interruption to my sleep cycle is granted

Also, I will get a little bit of extra pay because the “night hours” (between 10 pm and 6 am) aren’t my normal working hours and I’m also not doing shifts normally.

Still, tomorrow will feel like an even longer day than today. But tomorrow I will be back at 9 pm for sleep time.

I just hope the updated works without problems. :)
