Morning Writing

The last few days I have been waking up at 5 am. The first thing I did was turn on the coffee machine, which I prepared the night before and then walk downstairs to get the newspaper.

By the time I got up again (I’m living on the second floor), I am fully awake. I drink a little bit of water and walk to my dining room, where I open up the newspaper.

Most of the time my eyes are not ready to read yet, so I get my Macbook from the office and start it up. By the time it is ready, I can read the newspaper. Which I do for maybe 10 to 15 minutes.

Afterwards, I set the goal to write my 200 (I know, sometimes it’s a little bit less) words for the day, which is normally also done in 10 to 15 minutes. It is strange how fast 200 words are plotted down when you’ve done it for more than 400 days.

After publishing the post, I check through my emails and go to the bathroom to get ready for work (normally a short shower and the necessary day to day hygiene).

If everything went smooth, like it did this week, I’m at work by 6 am. A great start into the day.
