Diving into VR - Day 6 - Showoff
It has been almost a month since I showed the Oculus Quest to my Coworkers. Since everybody was enjoying it, I almost sent out another meeting appointment eminently.
So today is the 2nd Showoff. This time our CEO has also bought a Quest himself, which would make the Quest-Count three if the other coworker wasn’t sick. Only the CEO and me this time with devices.
We also reserved a table at the restaurant that is on the ground floor of our company building. Which means burgers and steaks for everybody afterwards.
I hope we have time to try out some multiplayer games. At least it should be possible, know that we have a powerful WLAN-Router that is also capable of streaming of Quests without latency to the observer’s computer.
I think it will be a fun afternoon and evening.

I wasn’t wrong. It was a really great evening. We had Steaks and Burgers around 6:30 pm and continued to play until almost 11:30 pm. To our enjoyment, our CEO decided to pay for the meals.
About the last two hours, we were playing OhShape. It is basically a dace game, where you have to stand correctly so the wall doesn’t hit you. Although it can’t hurt you directly, VR is way too realistic when you get lost in the music and vibes.
We decided that the next VR evening should be around the end of August. So we could create a monthly meeting. It would be also fun to have some kind of an OhShape tournament. Time to get my idea factory working again…
