Re: A streak matters

Thanks for the callout @brandonwilson. Every day I am sitting down to get my words done. Your post reminded me how long I have been writing here.

Without the streak-thing, I would be long gone. I know that because I had several blogs in the past. After a few months or sometimes weeks, I was burned out. Not because I didn’t have something to write about, but because I knew “I had to publish”.

Although the urge to write is the same here, I don’t feel I am pushed to write something. At least it doesn’t feel like it. I am here to improve.

Past projects were always about building something to get money from it eventually. Build an audience was a key point.

I don’t feel the urge to create an audience here. People who want to read my posts are free to. I think it was to do with the “missing metrics feature”. I can’t see how many people read my post, I only know when somebody writes a comment or clicks on the buttons below.

No statistics mean no pressure to produce something “selling”. I did schedule posts in the past, but mainly because I knew I won’t be able to publish them myself. That didn’t keep me from writing on that day.

But without the streak keeping me “accountable”, I wouldn’t be here anymore. Sometimes I feel like every skill that needs polishing needs to be somehow put into a habit or you’re never going to succeed in getting better.
