SpaceX

Yesterday seems like was a great moment in Space history. For the first time, a private company sent two Astronauts to the international space station.

I watched the start yesterday, the wakeup today and now the docking. It is very interesting to see how much effort goes into this journey.

For me, the most interesting is that we can view such stuff live. I think when the Nasa landed on the Moon decades ago, it was a huge spectacle to see the launch live. Know we can see the launch, the interior and the interior and exterior of the space vessel. We hear the coms and get the information displayed in almost real-time.

What I also find fascinating is how the interior of the Dragon capsule is so much different than the interior of the Space Shuttle.

The fact that the ISS is manned since it is in operation seems also crazy. There is a vessel floating around the earth with enormous speed and there are people on there, doing experiments.

Elon Musk wants to go for a manned Mars flight till 2030. I don’t think the timeline is real, but I do think that I will see the first humans on Mars in maybe 20 to 30 years. Maybe I will see some further missions in my lifetime?
