UPLOAD

I did something bad yesterday. Instead of watching only one episode, I watched the whole season of UPLOAD on Amazon Prime. I even forgot that I need to go to sleep early so I could wake up early. Sorry, Brandon. :)

Luckily it was a one-time exception as the second season isn’t even announced yet.

The series is set in the near future (2033) and focuses on what happens after you die. Unlike in Altered Carbon, where you can “resleeve” in a new body, in Upload the people stay inside the Virtual Reality, as transferring back to a 3d-printed body isn’t available yet.

The series kinda feels like Altered Carbon for kids. Not much nudity, only a little bit of violence and almost no blood.

It focuses on a guy that happened to die in the first episode. He is Uploaded to a “state of the art” virtual reality. The fact that his death probably wasn’t natural, is the main arc throughout the first season.

There is also a secondary arc around a romance. As with other reviews, no spoilers from me. :)

If you’re a typical SciFi guy and enjoyed Altered Carbon. The series is for you. If you significant other wasn’t in the mood to watch Altered Carbon because of the violence, Uploaded is definitely a show for couples.
