Re: The Art of Cooking
I received a “cooking box” from one of the providers today. I have been cooking in the past, but always fail to come up with ideas.
Sure, recipes aren’t all. Just like @bhumi says. Programming isn’t about the tutorials and so is cooking not about recipes.
Although, I have to say I really enjoy those “cooking boxes”. I get all ingredients and an easy six-step recipe.
If I would cook on my own, I would cook the same things over and over again. Probably mostly with meat or some sausages.
With those cooking boxes, I can enjoy a completely different meal almost every day (the boxes are for two persons, so I get to eat two portions of everything).
I can easily go without any meat at all. Today I had pasta with grilled vegetables and a sauce out of cream cheese.
I see the recipes as “baseline”. If you would paint an image, recipes are the technique of painting (for example watercolour or oil). The ingredients are the colours itself.
Out of simple stuff like that, artwork emerges. Tasty artwork. :)
The cooking art also serves another benefit: you get your head free, just like when you’re doing some exercises.
