SmartCash Masternode

At the end of 2018 is was talking with a co-worker about spinning up a SmartCash Masternode. Back then it seemed to be a good idea to try something like that.

With two other guys, we set it up at the end of February 2019. About 1000€ needed to be invested to spin it up.

Every one of us four contributed the amount he wanted to. Leading me and my coworker with the largest portion of 32.25% each. We agreed that my coworker, who was running the Server would get the Server cost calculated directly to Smart, so we don’t have to move a few euros every month.

I spun up a Google Table to keep track of our earnings.

Yesterday and today I worked on automating the process I was doing manually before (copying the transactions to the google table and entering the current BTC/EUR and BTC/SMART values).

I also crafted a small page so everyone could look up the current stats. (https://life.phaidenbauer.com/smart.php).

When I took a look at the numbers I was a little bit shocked. From the 1000€ investment, only about 55€ (including the rewards, subtracting the server costs) are left.

Obviously this wasn’t what we expected. But as long as the reward is above the Server Cost, we will keep the server up. Not the best passive income stream I came across. :)
