Remote Week 1

I just ended my first remote work week. Our government has extended the restrictions that are currently under effect until (at least) easter. Or April the 13th.

So I am looking at at least two more remote weeks. As I have written yesterday we had our first online “beer meetup” yesterday. People around the company are still excited about the remote work and the general motivation is high.

When I started this remote week I saw it as experient if I could work as freelancer full time and still get stuff done. After a week I have to admit it isn’t as easy as I thought it would be.

I get distracted quite a bit through the day, but with the help of the Pomodoro technic (with custom timeframes) it worked out pretty well. I even got more things done than I expected at first.

Not getting called or distracted by coworkers constantly is definitely a benefit.

Looking back I feel like I did a good job. I am going to use this weekend to recharge my batteries more than on past weekends. Hopefully, the temperature outside stays above 15°C, so I can absorb some sunlight and produce Vitamin D.
