Remote Beer

Today marks day four of the home office experiment at the company I work at. Before lunch, an interesting mail arrived in my inbox.

A coworker set out a meeting at 3 pm. But not a normal meeting, but a beer meetup. At special occasions, we drink beer at work, for example when somebody has his or her birthday or if it’s Friday.

Today is Thursday but the coworker that wrote the mail thought it would be time to open one up.

So a 3 pm we got together through GoToMeeting and drank our beer. It was fun to see the other guys from the office again.

We are at our second round right now, and I think nobody is going to work afterwards.

Home Office can be a little bit lonely sometimes, but with today’s possibilities, it is great that people could work together still.

Luckily we got the internet for a few decades, without it the current crisis and quarantining time would probably way more depressing. Thinking back there was only tv and radio.

Could you imagine being at home without internet? Grounded for days without something other than radio or television?

For my grandparents it was normal, but now?
