Waking up early on weekends

For the last couple of years, well probably since I can remember, I slept till midday on Saturdays and Sundays. In recent months I changed that.

The thing is, if you stay awake really long on Friday evening because you’re going out and have some drinks, Saturday is most likely lost.

I know when I drink too much alcohol, or bad combinations of it (drinks instead of pure wine or beer), I need the whole Saturday and a good portion of the Sunday to regenerate.

If I only drink one sort of alcohol (like yesterday, a good bottle of red Merlot), I don’t feel groggy at all. And more importantly, I manage to get up at seven or eight in the morning.

The great thing with waking up so early on weekends is, that you really get stuff done. For example, I know I will do at least four or five machines full of laundry. If I had wakened up later, I might only get three done.

Also, I will use the day to buy some stuff from the DIY store, while the laundry is enjoying itself in the washing machine. And I will have time to work on the Terrarium once again. Some sensors arrived last week and they need to be put to work.

So, instead of almost two groggy days, I get two full productive days in exchange. What a deal!
