Neck Pain and Headache

Yesterday I had a severe headache. It was a long working day and the girlfriend of a coworker gave birth to their girl. As it is the tradition here in Styria, we drove to their newly built house and placed a wooden stork with the name of the baby there.

It was about half an hour drive from our working place. As we drove back home, a strange feeling started to crumble up my neck. By the time I arrived at my Apartment, the feeling crumbled up into my head.

I thought it might be a small headache. I took a paracetamol pill and went to bed. At two a.m. I was torn from sleep. My neck hurt pretty bad and the headache got worse.

Normally I know when I am taking a painkiller and go to bed, by the time I will wake up the headache will be gone. Not this time.

I got up and drank a little bit of water. Layed down again and tried to sleep. No matter how I turned my head, it hurt.

I got up again and took a cool pack from the freezer. Finally, the neck pain seemed to be under control. I also decided to take an ibuprofen pain killer so I could get some sleep.

At around 4 a.m. I was able to fall asleep again.

While I was at work today, the same strange feeling was again crawling up my neck. It isn’t as bad as yesterday and I don’t have and headache right now.

I put on some sports creme and it immediately felt better. It seems like I’ve got a very severe tension in my neck. I will make an appointment with a masseur in the upcoming days. Luckily there is one in the companies building I work at.
