A great way to start the “new years” post, isn’t it?

I think everywhere in the world, fireworks are shot into the atmosphere. In our neighbourhood, somebody had so crazy stuff, our windows vibrated on every shot.

Years back I loved fireworks. Well, I still do. But knowing a few dog owners and how some of their dogs go crazy about this event, I feel sorry. The dogs are put into an extreme situation, they aren’t expecting beforehand.

As far as I know, a few larger cities in Austria made the decision to show off a huge laser show instead of a huge firework. In my opinion, that should be definitely better for the environment and I think it also should be cheaper?

You don’t have to pay special pyrotechnicians and power is definitely cheaper as blowing stuff up. At least you can reuse the devices you used in one year for the next year. Fireworks blow up and are gone forever. Well, the wooden part in the rockets we fire here in Austria, still flies down to earth and pollutes fields and roads.
