Walking to Work
I think I have written about it, but I am not sure, so here it goes.
I think I lined out that I am not living far apart the company I work at. In the old Apartment, it was only about one and a half kilometre. Now, in the new Apartment, it is a little bit longer, maybe two or three kilometres.
The week before last week I tried to walk to the company’s headquarter every day. It worked out pretty good. This week I started again to walk to it.
This has two great advantages. On one side, I am doing something for my health. Reaching at least 7000 to 10000 steps a day isn’t bad. Also, I can get my head free of any work-related stuff.
If I drive to the workplace in the morning, I am always arriving somehow tired. Sure, normally I am only waking up about half an hour earlier, which probably is the problem.
Also, I know, as soon as I’m driving home, work-thoughts still reside in my mind, at least an hour after arriving at home.
If I walk on the other side, I am fully woken up when I arrive, and my mind is clear as soon as I come home.
If I drive, I lose maybe 10 minutes a day. If I walk I lose an hour, but I’m more relaxed. So walking it is.
