Migraine

Since the end of elementary school, I can remember migraine attacks. At first, I only had a few per year.

When I switched to primary school, that changed to a monthly basis. As I changed to the technical college, these attacks almost happened on a weekly basis.

My mother drove me from doctor to doctor but no one could find a suitable explanation. Looking back I know it. Stress.

Absurd you might think? How could a 9-year-old be stressed out?

My parents didn’t put me into any course out there and I had plenty of free time and friends.

So, no I am not talking about “performance stress” (“you need to do something”), but I am talking about emotional stress.

From the beginning of my school career, I was an outsider. I started elementary school with four friends. You could categories all of them as the outer “edge” of “standard” behaviour.

At primary school, the circle shrank down to one, as the other ones were at different classes. In the last year, I was basically alone most of the time.

At the college, I met some new friends, and I have to say my best friend is from that time, but the others also varnished.

Now, I’ve got my best friend which I can call anytime and any day and my “work” friends. Some of them are also really close ones.

Weren’t you talking about migraines?

Yes, since I started working, the attacks basically aren’t there anymore. I might have one in a year, but thats mostly caused by “performance stress” I’m putting on myself.

The brain is the most complex system in the human body. Obviously only a really small portion of it is researched.

A doctor couldn’t find my problem, maybe a psychologist had found it.
