Leopard Gecko Update

Today I visited a local Leopard Gecko breeder. It was about an hour drive when I arrived at a small Apartment near Graz.

I made a contract to her through a few “hops”. Basically she is the Girlfriend from a coworkers cuisine co-worker. The wonders of the connected world. :)

She was really welcoming and directly showed me here terrariums. Currently, she got one chameleon which she rescued from a “bad” owner if I understood correctly. About 15 adult leopard geckos and 12 “babies”.

She said this year she incubated about 30 girls. Interesting fact, the gender of this geckos is mainly determined by the incubating temperature.

According to her, it is possible to hold multiple girls in one terrarium, males are way more aggressive and normally don’t tolerate each other.

But I have to admit, I’m a little bit confused. Ss I have written before, according to books and her it is possible to let multiple geckos life together, but on Reddit, all opinions are against it. Sure leopard geckos are lone wolfs, but it seems like they tolerate each other.

I came to the conclusion that I probably will be buying one of those little creatures in the near future, but I’m not exactly sure if it will be one or multiple.

But one thing I know for sure, one will definitely have the name Aurora Lane (Passengers anyone?).

I’ll keep you updated.
