Oktoberfest

I am almost 26 hours awake right now. When I woke up yesterday morning I didn’t expect that. I did a 12-hour paramedic shift following by an on duty at the “Oktoberfest” nearby.

The day wasn’t full of emergencies and neither was the on duty at the Oktoberfest, well not until we were ready to drive home and collect our needed sleep.

We were two ambulance vehicles with two paramedics on each. As I have written, the night wasn’t spectacular, the only thing that bothered me, was a guy pissing on my ambulance vehicle. (Don’t worry, the police was on duty right beneath my ambulance vehicle. The case was pretty clear and the guy probably as to pay a fee in the upcoming week.)

Anyway, I am driving away from the topic I wanted to write.

As we packed our stuff and went on a last check around the area we were called to a guy who as beaten.

The girlfriend of the beaten guy told us that he argued with another guy and suddenly a third person showed up and hit her boyfriend into the face.

A quick check showed that probably one of his teeth took some damage and his arm was hurting. Also, the lip was burst a little bit.

As it wasn’t clear what happened, we called the police. Obviously, they drove just off from their on duty. We couldn’t wait for them so we drove off to the hospital (we were about 10 minutes away).

Just before I started the engine, something strange happened, the guy started to get shiverings. A symptom that doesn’t fit the others. After a quick conversation with the guy, we did find out that he couldn’t remember the fall or how he got down on the floor. A sign of a concussion.

We drove him to the hospital, and now I’m sitting here, writing thoughts down.
