Quitting and Streaking

Everybody quits sometimes somewhere. I can be the will to stop eating bad food, you can quit relationships, you can quit binge-watching or you can quit breathing (sorry, Paramedic Black Humor just came through).

Yesterday, I didn’t quit. The day before I didn’t quit. What? Writing here.

There were many occasions where I thought, oh no, I still have to do my 200 words, but don’t felt like it. That are the days when I published more gibberish then on the other days. :)

But I didn’t and I am glad I didn’t because now I know, I can keep a streak and it keeps me motivated to keep going. I always wanted to contribute more to open source, maybe it is time to start and use the Github Commit Graph as a “streak” indicator.

Or another important thing for me would be waking up at five o’clock. Maybe I could make a streak out of it as soon as we are coming back from the Heavy Metal Festival.

It could be as simple as a large calendar where I would cross off the days I woke up at five. A simple but effective way? At least the calendar method get’s mentioned online in every other productivity article.
