Product Idea - RFC

First of all, if you don’t know what RFC means, no worries. I stands for Request for Comment. So feel free to comment on my Idea.

Through some post here on 200wad, I stumbled upon GoFuckingDoIt (GFDI) from @levelsio. I think @basilesamel mentioned the 12 Startups in 12 Months thingy from him in one of his posts.

Anyway, my mind didn’t let the base idea of GFDI go, so I thought a little bit about it. As far as I saw @levelsio doesn’t actively work on GFDI anymore, maybe it’s time to put something out myself.

I thought why not bring the challenge a bit further: Yes, having a good friend who decides if you did the challenge or not is great and for many cases the only solution to know for the platform if something was done or not.

But why stop there? There are so many great APIs of services out there. Like Fitbit or MakerLog for example, even 200wad. Why not couple an account if a service like GFDI and let some behind the scenes logic handle the success and failure decision?

Reached 30-day streak on 200wad, great no charge. Didn’t reach the step goal of 7000 a day for one week, well 25$ gone.

But there are also some pitfalls, I should reach out to @levelsio to ask if he would be ok, but on the other side, I’ve seen apps doing a similar thing for Gym-Check-ins or eating healthy if I remember correctly, so the idea itself can’t (?) be protected.

Also, I’ve to check with my tax consultant how a service like that has to be set up in Austria to be legal. Since I think GFDI is located in the Netherlands which is also European Union it can’t be that difficult.

So, if there would be enough interest, I would challenge myself through GFDI, maybe with an onlooker of this community for creating an MVP, in a month or so, if I’ve got the go from my tax consultant.
