Hackathon
This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.
Tomorrow we will be having a Hackathon at the company I work at. If I remember correctly, it will be the fourth one.
The topics we can work on are widespread again, and I am really thankful that we can do stuff that doesn't have something to do with the services that the company is offering.
A coworker will show off a small soldering course which really doesn't have anything to do with our company, as we don't produce hardware.
The food and drinks will be paid for by the company and they also allow us to work inside our offices.
If you ask me that is really generous by our managers. As far as I know, there will be enough beer and pizza for everyone.
For my part, I will be probably working on Advent of Code puzzles, but I am not sure yet. Some coworkers asked if I could show off some basic Javascript.
The main part of our development team is Java and some of them showed interest before. Maybe it is time to show off the power of Javascript and Nodejs.
We will see what the day brings. But I am already really tensed on the stuff that people will build in these few hours.
