First Gym Insights

It hasn’t been a month since I started going to the gym regularly, but I already managed quite a few training sessions (seven to be exact). I took some time today and gathered the statistics the EGym App is tracking.
What blew my mind is that I already lifted a total of more than 65 tons (65523 kilograms) of weight. Since I finished the first batch of 6x2x20 repetition on the machines, a new strength check was done by the machines. Some weights already increased a whooping 10 kilograms. I was not expecting this much increase from only a few trips to the gym.
With that also the training exercises slightly change. Beforehand, the muscle was only “used” in one direction (main training direction at the chest press, for example). Now the machines enter a “negative” mode, for the next six iterations. The main weight was decreased a bit, so pushing the handles away is easier, but there is now a counterweight on the “return” movement (I hope you get what I mean). Pushing got easier, but pulling back now needs to be slowly and steady instead of relying on the weight.
Quite interesting, to be honest. After the six “negative” cycles, the machine goes back to “normal” (I guess there will be another lifting power check by then). Then another “negative” cycle follows. After that, I’ll have finished the first “basic” program of the machine. I’ll have to consult one of the coaches to see if we change some machines at that time.
On a mental health perspective side, I can really feel the benefit of those one and a half hour sessions have. No stepping back now.
