Decisions

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

Everybody decides things. Every day and always. What do I want to wear today, what am I going to eat, who will I ask for a favor.´

Microdecisions, and decisions we don't really decide (ex. our Nerve System decides when to breath in and out).

I also made a decision today. When I woke up today I was sure I will have to decide, but as I had my Motorcycle License Theory exam in the morning (which I passed) I didn't really think about it.

I decided to buy a new Apartment. I have been in this RedCross Apartment for about four years now. And since the last one and a half years my sleep got worse and worse.

When I moved in, the night shifts weren't that bad, on a hard night, we maybe stood up two times. Now, I can count the hours of sleep with three to four fingers.

This wouldn't be so bad if the "bad sleep" would only occur on night shifts. Nowadays my sleep changed to randomly waking up in the night, realizing that I don't have a night shift and falling back to sleep. Multiple times a night.

The only "real" sleep I can get right now is on weekends. In my opinion, that's too few.

So I searched for a normal Apartment, not connected to night shifts. Last week a Paramedic colleague said that he still couldn't sell his Apartment after he bought his house. Guess who the next owner of that Apartment will be. :)

I won't stop my paramedic activities completely, but I think it's time to move on and do something for myself. I'll keep you updated. :)
