Cooking

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

Today a new Cook-Box arrived while I was at work. It isn't the first of these things I ordered. I have subscribed to a similar service about a year ago.

Basically, you get a delivery every Tuesday or Friday with the exact amounts for several meals.

Since I am living alone I choose three different meals for two persons which leads to six hot meals for me.

The boxes consist of four packages. Three "warm" ones which had the vegetables for the meals and one "cold" one where yoghurt and flesh were stored.

As far as I know, all things are gathered together from local farmers at the company's place. If I remember correctly, they are coming from lower Austria.

Sadly, the box I received today looked okay from the outside, but the "cold" storage was broken on the inside. One of the yoghurt cups was broken and dispersed its content inside the box.

Luckily I have got a groceries store nearby, so I could quickly get a fresh cup of yoghurt. But still, it bothers me. On the boxes are markings and text that says they should be transported carefully.

I'm probably going to write them an email because they definitely need to tell their transport company to handle this packages with care. They aren't exactly cheap (I'm paying around 7,50€ per meal or 45€ a week).

Anyway, I cooked two of the three meals. As with the other box I had about a year ago, the meals are healthy, easy to cook and taste great.

I think if you're cooking yourself it even tastes better. So, I'm back cooking again, instead of eating at the company's restaurant.
