Caffeine Sensitivity

This post was originally published on golifelog.com.

“Back in the day”, when I had to be in an office five days a week, I had several cups of coffee a day and multiple times a week multiple energy drinks (mostly Monster). Besides the high sugar content of the Monsters, I built up a high caffeine resistance.

It didn’t matter when in the day I had a coffee, I knew I could sleep without a problem. Since I switched to 100% home office, I reduced my intake to one or two cups a day. Cutting out a huge amount of sugar surely didn’t hurt my health and on the other side, I now know, I shouldn’t consume beverages with caffeine after 3 pm if I want to head to bed early.

It’s quite interesting how fast the body transforms back from low caffeine sensitivity to a high one. At least it makes the effect it has predictable again.
