65% of 100%

This Blog Post was originally published on the platform "writelier" (formerly "co-writers" and "200wordsaday"). Sadly the blogging platform was discontinued. I downloaded all my blog posts and prepared them to be republish them here.

Yesterday I read the great post from @juliasaxena about "3 principles for working out and getting fit". If you didn't read it I would highly recommend it.

Anyway, let's go one with my fitness story. As I've said yesterday I'm almost 24 and weight about 100 kilograms with a height of about 174 centimeters. So according to my BMI, I'm obesity.

Nothing shocking here, I've known this for years.

Recently we took an extended healthy examination at the company I work. It is basically a Blood and Urine test, some Forms to fill in and ergometry with an electrocardiogram. And a sum up talk with a doctor and a fitness coach.

Blood and Urine looked good, except my cholesterol values are way too high and my blood pressure in at rest is also a little bit too high.

The blood pressure settled under load, so only the one at rest is too high. But then the results of the ergometry came in.

From the average Person my age, I can only give 65% power. That was the shocking moment. I know I can't run up three floors straight, but at least I can climb them relatively quickly without getting out of breath.

Now I'm signed up to a gym nearby and it's the third week in row I'm going three times a week. I'm doing cardio and strength training, and I'm already experiencing something changing.
