As I wrote yesterday, not everything is terrible currently. Today I managed only to hit snooze for one hour instead of two. And that is just because I was writing about it yesterday.

The plan for today (after work) was to implement the sleep, steps and work hours into my "Life Dashboard", but after being in an extensive meeting, I wasn't in the mood for programming anymore. Instead, I got up from my work desk and went downstairs to collect the ingredients for this week's meals.

If I didn't mention it yet, I'm currently using MarleySpoon and have used HelloFresh in the past. Both cost almost the same, and I will try to alternate between those two every half year or so. They provide around 15 meals per week to choose from, and you get the ingredients delivered to your doorstep. I don't have to think about what to cook each week, or even the same from week to week, and just choose five to six meals (for a total of 10 or 12 servings) a few weeks ahead. Because of their wide variety, I can opt to go without meat for a whole week, so I try to keep meat down to a maximum of once or twice a week.

As far as I can tell, after doing so since mid-September, I enjoy preparing my meals, and almost every time, I'm baffled when the stuff I cook tastes excellent.

What I also didn't entirely mention yesterday: I noticed that I get house chores done more quickly. I fill the dishwasher when there are dishes to wash and empty it as soon as it is finished. I also managed to do some laundry between work sessions. Beforehand laundry was a typical Saturday or Sunday task. The dishwasher was usually emptied when there was enough stuff to fill it again, or I ran out of dishes.

But all working from home has a downside, which I have started to notice slowly: I don't feel as connected to my co-workers as I was in my previous Job. Part of that is probably because I'm only seeing them every other month or so (in person), but part is also because I'm only working there for a little over a month now. I wonder how that will change over time.
