Writing Prompts

Posted at — Jun 25, 2019

Sometimes it is hard to find good inspiration for 200 words a day. Most of the time my brain puts out a headline and I can write and write and write.

Sometimes it takes more effort and pressure to get a good starting point. I also wrote stories and they totally got into an other direction as first intended.

I regularly browse through reddit’s /r/WritingPrompts, normally I just read an interesting prompt and look at what others have written.

But, the prompts aren’t really categorized nor otherwise easy sortable, sure you can go through the upvotes and sometimes you only need two words to get into a writing mood.

Since I don’t think I am the only person, sometimes stuck with “writer’s block” or the blank page syndrome (does that exists? I just made it up in my mind), I thought I should use my developer skills and craft something small for everybody free to use.

You can check it out here.

Currently, it only lists writing prompts from reddit, but I’d like to extend it with genres or categories later on. Also, a feature to report bad prompts is planned and maybe a link submission thingy, so everybody can share their ideas on a certain prompt.

Be sure to leave me some feedback, either here or via mail (I know it looks crappy right now). :)
