On Friday I brought my bought motorcycle from a coworker home. As you have read in the title, it didn’t work out as expected.
I was just driving along and approached a roundabout, as I am an inexperienced driver I slowed down and got into an inclination to take the corner.
No problem, but at the end of the roundabout, right where I started to get back into the “normal” position somebody lost some oil or petrol.
As I was still in inclination my read wheel decided to slip away, and guess what, I fell.
Greatly I was really slow and of course, wore all protection leather cloths. So nothing really bad happened. Luckily.
Only my left knee is a little bit aching, as the 215-kilogram bike landed on it. But I also managed to get off the bike backward. Sometimes it would be interesting to see what really happened from a third person view.
Also, it was near a grocery store and a small restaurant. A few people saw me fall and were instantly there to help me up and moved the bike away into the shadows so I could cope with the situation.
The bike has a big scratch on the gearbox now, but it is only aesthetically. I’ve got back on it and drove home.
Fortunately, it could have been even worse, but it wasn’t. A knee in pain, I can sustain.
My grandfather always told me when I was young and cut myself or chafed my knees: “Ein Indianer kennt keinen Schmerz” which translates to “An Indian doesn’t know pain”. I know, it’s an awful sentence but in situations like this, it just strikes into my mind. Thanks, grandpa. :)
Also, thanks to the people how helped me on Friday!
